The Protagonist

As expected, naturally and innately,

One is born to question and to seek precision,

His purpose of existence,

To obey or to not,

To adhere, to decipher or to go back to bed,

Here is where you contemplate,

Listen not to what others say,

Decide and not take the easy way out,

For it says, “Truth standsout clear from error.”

Thus claims the main protagonist,

Now the antagonist, perhaps a male chauvinist,

Resident of someone’s residence,

Existing and dwelling in mere existence.

Spineless, limbless without a backbone to remain standing,

A creature of dissolute, like weak and frail,

Standing still with hands held high,

Hoping for a change, eagerly waiting for divine intervention

Coming of age, reaching pubescent,

Of teenage life and adulthood,

For what lesson it brings but pain and immorality,

Feels like living in prison, hurt then followed by restrictions.

Destined to shine, to standup high,

To place the forehead unto the ground,

With ultimate peace, overflowing with gratefulness,

Yet it seems so far away, and ignorance comes and takes its place.

What is this meaning of wanting to impress,

Why the need to be remembered?

Who is it that you truly live for?

Confused and lost, at the gates of heaven.

Of growing up and knowing people,

Heartbreaking and a life changing lesson,

Selfish, greedy, encompasses jealousy,

The ugly heart gloats while worshipping,

Put on a pious face to hide their true face.

Always ready to get to you,

Worse than the devil that whispers into you,

Each with his own, well planned goal,

Slave to their causes and presumed happiness.

For this an expression, a form of opinion,

Coming to transpire, to give an idea,

“The soul that sinneth, it shall die,

The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father,

Neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son”
